Colonel C Cowboy
1997 AQHA Sorrel Stallion
Colonel Clout x Two Dees Fantasy
Colonel C Cowboy was born and raised at L.A. Waters Quarter Horses Ranch. We trained him at home then showed him in the NCHA Cutting Horse Futurity in 2000. “Cowboy” is a super athlete with a kind disposition, just like his grandsire Colonel Freckles.
Cowboy’s dam, Two Dees Fantasy, was an amazing cutting horse herself, winning countless accolades in the Open Cutting level, and then going on to win at the World Championship level in AQHA Youth, at that time shown by 13-year-old Kristy Waters. Two Dees Fantasy’s dam, Two Dees Dynamite, was both NCHA and AQHA World Champion Mare, and her sire, Doc O’Lena, was NCHA Futurity Champion.
Cowboy’s sire, Colonel Clout, was the number one favorite two-year-old stallion in training at L.A. Waters Quarter Horses the year Colonel Freckles died. Wanda and Lou Waters chose to keep Colonel Clout at that time to be a replacement stallion to Colonel Freckles. He was never shown and was assigned a heavenly life turned out in a breeding pasture in Utopia, Texas. He successfully raised hundreds of foals until he died healthy and happy at the age of 27. At that time he was the last recorded son of Colonel Freckles still producing foals. Colonel Clout’s dam, Miss Pistol Lena, was a top winning cutting mare also raised, trained, and shown by L. A. Waters Quarter Horses in the 1980s. Her sire was Doc O’ Lena, NCHA Futurity Champion and sire of two NCHA Futurity Champions. Colonel Clout’s sire was Colonel Freckles, NCHA Futurity Champion, sire of a NCHA Futurity Champion, and AQHA Hall of Fame.
Colonel Cowboy demonstrated the heart and soul of a champion in the show pen. He has a kind and trainable disposition that it takes to make a champion. His offspring show the same heart, soul, and disposition. We are proud to be able to share his genes with you now to add some Colonel Freckles to your herd. Whether it’s in speed events, cattle events, or ranching events, we are sure that his genetic combination will bring you the horse of a lifetime.
