Aztec Colonel
2023 Red Dun colt foaled June 27
Here’s a truly attractive yearling colt that has been in the pasture growing out because he was born a bit late last year (June). He is a solid red dun with the typical lineback and zebra-striped legs. He is a nice big size now and might get his good looks from his maternal grandsire Big Sky Dun It who was a full brother to Tomas Garcilazo’s gorgeous PRCA show horse Hollywood (with the white mane that went to the ground). In addition to the bloodlines of NCHA Futurity Champions Colonel Freckles, Doc O’Lena, and Miss Ginger Dee, he is a descendent of Two D’s Dynamite, NCHA and AQHA World Champion Cutting Mare. He should be a good prospect for any of the cowhorse events—NRCHA, ranch horse versatility, roping, etc.
