WILD CARD DUN IT
2001 Buckskin Stallion
Our kind of horse!! Wild Card Dun It, 2001 buckskin stallion, is a natural, intelligent, cooperative athlete that went to the top of the charts when he was in the show ring. He now lives on our ranch in a 200–acre pasture with his band of broodmares, but he can be taken to a competition at any time and behaves like a perfect gentleman and still performs like a champion. He is so cooperative and well-behaved that Robert Duvall elected to ride him on the set of the 2011 movie “Seven Days in Utopia.” See photo at right.
2006 is the year that Wild Card Dun It was on the road competing in the AQHA, with the capable management of professional horseman J. D. Yates of Colorado. The incredibly successful year ended with Wild Card being named the AQHA All Around High Point Junior Horse for the year. Among his awards, he received a Superior in both heading and heeling, an AQHA Register of Merit, The High Point Jr. Horse Award in both Heading and Heeling, as well as points in working cow horse, tie-down, barrel racing, and halter. He won numerous all-around and circuit awards at AQHA shows across the country for the year and won the bronze trophy in the AQHA World Championships show in Junior Heeling. Also, in the 2006 National Rope Horse Futurity (with over 500 entries), Wild Card won the finals in both heading and heeling and was the high money winner for the entire futurity.
Wild Card was broke and started on our ranch by our son-in-law Mike Outhier. Recognizing the talent and desire in the colt, our family sent Wild Card to Ted Robinson in California for training in reined cow horse. In 2004 Ted and Wild Card were finalists in the NRCHA Valley Cow Horse Association Futurity. This good start was the foundation for his successful AQHA show career in the following year.
Now a primary breeding stallion for L. A. Waters Quarter Horses, Wild Card Dun It is siring exciting, colorful foals that are in high demand. From his first foal crop of only four foals, he sired the 2009 SRCHA Non Pro Futurity Champion Wild Card Jackson. He is successfully passing on the Championship genes of his sire, $6 million NRHA sire Hollywood Dun It, and his dam Colonel C Hermosa, who carries the bloodlines of AQHA Hall of Fame and NCHA Futurity Champion Colonel Freckles and NCHA Futurity Champion Doc Olena. We invite you to view all of his foals on our website or visit our ranch in the Texas Hill Country to find a horse that is just perfect for you.
